5-Second Surge Reserve for High-Inrush Loads
The 5-second surge reserve gives the AFP4835U80-H extra starting power for compressors, pumps and other loads that briefly draw well above their steady-state demand. AFP4835U80-H provides 3.5kW rated output with a short-term peak of up to twice rated power for 5 seconds, covering brief inrush demand from compressors, pumps and other startup-heavy loads.


Up to 7kW PV Input
A 7kW PV allowance gives this 3.5kW inverter more solar energy for daytime loads and battery charging without changing its 3.5kW continuous AC rating. AFP4835U80-H uses one MPPT with a 60–450Vdc tracking range and a 500Vdc open-circuit ceiling, allowing higher-voltage strings while AC output remains rated at 3.5kW.
30A MPPT Input
A higher MPPT current ceiling gives array designers more room to use modern high-current modules or parallel string groups. The AFP4835U80-H lists up to 30A PV input current on its MPPT.


UPS and APL Input Modes for Different Grid Conditions
The wider input range tolerates more variation from weak-grid or generator sources before the inverter rejects AC and transfers to battery. Instead of using one fixed AC-input window, the AFP US model publishes two ranges: UPS mode at 90–140Vac and APL mode at 65–140Vac.
Expand the AFP System to Six Inverters
Parallel capability supports staged project growth, so inverter capacity can increase as site demand rises rather than being fixed at the first installation. Parallel capacity is listed at 1–6 units, so an off-grid home or workshop can add inverter capacity later while retaining the same 48V storage architecture.
80A Grid/Generator Charging
Up to 80A grid/generator charging lets the 48V battery bank recover even when solar production is weak or unavailable. The inverter operates from a 48V battery bank across a 40–60Vdc range and supports up to 80A charging from grid or generator.
